Tache Lives Up To Its Name With A Movember Charity Collaboration

Greeting card publisher, Tache is living up to its name by teaming up with Movember, the men’s health charity to create a new Modern Mister card range, sales of which will raise funds for the charity. The range of 15 handmade cards are being sold in John Lewis and Waitrose stores as well as online. £1 from every card sold via tache.co.uk is to be donated to Movember, while 25% of the trade sales will be going to the charity.

The charity was a natural choice to support for Tache co-founders Pennie Bryant and Frank Nicholls. Aside from the brand parallels, both of their families have been affected by prostate cancer and Pennie’s grandfather sadly lost his battle with the disease in 2019.

Pennie commented, “Frank and I have both unfortunately had family that have suffered with prostate cancer, my grandad passed away nearly two years ago, and Frank’s grandad is still fighting it. Not long after we started Tache, we knew we wanted to work with Movember to help raise awareness and do our bit to support men’s health issues. This year is more important than ever as prostate cancer referrals have dropped by half during the pandemic to the lowest levels for a decade.”

The designs of the resultant handmade cards feature a bold colour palette, foil detail and include a ‘Mate Date’ ticket, a mixtape and of course, moustaches. The online option allows the cards to be personalised.

They are designed with men in mind to encourage supportive and open conversations particularly among men, as well as fundraising for the charity through sales.

Anne-Cécile Berthier, country director UK & Europe, at Movember said of the collaboration: “We’ve really enjoyed working with Tache on this special Movember range. We hope the range helps raise awareness of prostate cancer and encourages more men to speak to their doctor about getting tested when they turn 50, or 45 if they’re black or have a family history.”

Through education, support in the community and funding a variety of projects, Movember aims to reduce the number of men dying prematurely from testicular and prostate cancers and suicide, as well as focusing on mental health through a male lens to help support men and boys to be mentally healthy.

Tache’s tie-up with Movember, follows on from the company’s collaboration with Instagram famousAlfie the Pug in order to raise funds for two charities, Pets As Therapy and Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity. “When Frank and I started Tache it was always our dream that we would build in a charitable element working once we became established enough. The pandemic situation has been trying for us all and has also really hit charities hard with the lack of fundraising events and initiatives, so we feel the time is right for us to do our bit to help those less fortunate than ourselves,” Pennie told PG Buzz last October when it announced the collaboration with Alfie.
