Lola Design’s boss set to impress

Amanda Mountain on shortlist for Great British Businesswoman Awards

Amanda Mountain, co-founder and creative maestro of Lola Design, is definitely impressive as she’s now a finalist in the Great British Businesswoman Awards.

Picked as one of the eight shortlisted in the Consumer Businesswoman Of The Year category, Amanda told PG Buzz: “I’m not sure how this happened – but it’s all very exciting!”

Amanda, aka Lola, and husband Frank founded Lola Design in 2015 to specialise in greeting cards and gift-led stationery, with much of their product made in the UK – you can see more about the company in the video below.

The Great British Businesswoman Series encompasses an awards programme, forum and series of webinar sessions, with the mission of providing a platform to recognise, celebrate and support women in business, champion their peers and advocates, and help foster the next generation of female business leaders in a year-round programme of engagement.

The winner of the Consumer Goods Businesswoman Award will be a natural leader, taking on an adaptable and innovative approach that results in high-level outcomes. They will have a demonstrable knowledge of their industry and audience, along with a strong team focus and evidence of strategic planning. This award will go to an individual who acknowledges and strives for excellence in product development, merchandising, sales and advertising.

For the 2022 awards, there were 600 entries in the 20 categories, with 90 finalists, with greeting card publisher Amanda shortlisted alongside Martha Keith, founder and ceo of Martha Brook stationery and gift company, with The British Blanket Company’s Bethan Jones, The Tartan Blanket Co’s Emma Macdonald, Emma Naumann from Cogito Talent, Sweet Lounge founder Greta McDonald, Draught Drop’s Mellanie Lykourina Struthers, and Monika Ludwiczak from Everlasting Brows.

The winners will be announced at London’s De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms on 29 November, and the party with a dress to impress code follows a finalists’ daytime networking event.
