Sooshichacha feels at home with its expansion into fabrics and wallpapers

You’ve bought the cards, now you can draw the curtains, paper the walls and take a pew as Sooshichacha’s creative founder Lucie Chadderton branches out under her own name with a collection of fabrics and wallpapers that co-ordinate with the company’s paper products.

From the main brand Lucie Chadderton…for Sooshichacha, unveiled at Top Drawer was the inaugural Lucie Chadderton…Botanical Bea collection (the ‘Bea’ being a nod to Lucie’s daughter Beatrix) which includes wallpapers, fabrics and ready made cushions, as well as the more expected greeting cards, gift wrap, gift bags and notebooks.

While it was a surprise for Sooshichacha’s existing retail customers to see the new interiors additions, Lucie has created artwork for textile manufacturers for years, having worked large interiors design studios before setting up on her own. In fact the designs from her studio are on sale in leading retailers all over the world, but not under her own brand.

Explaining the recent thrust, Lucie said: “I wanted to combine the two disciplines – of card publishing and interiors – and create a life style brand that is totally different to our usual look.”
