TOYW toolkit ready

Check out new Thinking Of You Week Instagram page for this year’s activities

Activities are already ramping up for Thinking Of You Week 2023 and the GCA has its comprehensive toolkit at the ready to help everyone make the most of the event, which runs over 18-24 September.

There’s even a new Instagram page where all activities to do with the special week that harnesses the emotional power of greeting cards to create a wave of love, caring and happiness can be featured.

On the UK TOYW website, there are posters, email and social media banners, logos, a template press release and a set of social media competition guidelines for anyone who wants to engage consumers and promote the event, plus Adobe files for creatives to incorporated the TOYW logo into their own designs.

“We have officially kickstarted the campaign for Thinking Of You Week 2023,” GCA marketing and membership coordinator Adriana Lovesy said. “This will be a multi-faceted event – and please like our new TOYW Instagram page!”

Royal Mail has also confirmed it will be supporting the event again this year with a special postmark saying Send A Card Deliver A Smile For Thinking Of You Week, which will be printed on all mail stamped and posted during the week.

Retailers already behind this year’s campaign include House of Cards, which won the Retas Award for the best retailer initiative earlier this month for its 2022 TOYW activities, supplying every team member of Caversham AFC Swans U10s with a goodie bag of notecards, pens and stamps to write to someone special. Scribbler, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Clintons have also signed up to support the event.

The TOYW message was shared at last week’s Harrogate Home & Gift show with a wall of cards from greetings exhibitors and explanation of the ethos behind the campaign.

And over in America, the US GCA has really got behind the TOYW message and will be running its own campaign again.

On its website there are new for 2023 templates for a social media countdown and stories, 7 Days Of Thinking Of You Week, and a TOYW challenge to write seven cards to seven people in seven days, plus tips for retailers as well as publishers on how to get involved, and a helpful list of letter-writing campaigns for events or school programmes.

To get involved in Thinking Of You Week check out the UK website where there’s information for publishers, retailers, and schools, or contact Adriana at the GCA, admin@gca.cards.
