IG Design extends Eco Nature into single cards

Latest fully recyclable brand reinforces publisher’s sustainable mission

 

Committed to building a “truly sustainable business model” IG Design Group has launched phase two of its Eco Nature brand, including a move into single cards.

With the company’s mission being to make a difference through producing carbon neutral, recycled, sustainable and ethical products made in the UK, the whole Eco Nature extensive range uses 100% recycled papers, and is fully recyclable – and even the brochure is printed on recycled material.

“IG Design Group UK is committed to building a truly sustainable business model,” commercial director Adrian Coates told PG Buzz. “We are achieving this by creating a sustainable organisation of like-minded colleagues who truly believe in using methods that do not harm the environment and so contribute to securing natural resources and quality of life for future generations.

“We are immensely proud that we continue to invest significant resources in supporting lower-carbon-footprint UK manufacturing also securing quality, UK manufacturing jobs.”

As a global manufacturer and producer of commercial celebrations products, Adrian said the group “understood it was our duty to launch a brand which steps away from Far Eastern manufacture and transportation, in favour of supporting and celebrating UK manufacturing and UK employment within all participating functions”.

He added: “We wanted to salute and encourage design, print and production close to home with pride, and delivering our products to customers via just a short journey within the UK, always being mindful of our carbon footprint and our global impact.”

The UK arm of the global group is also continuing to invest in its manufacturing capabilities with a third bag machine arriving in 2023 to secure UK jobs and offer shorter lead times while, as the first UK manufacturer to launch shrink-free labelling solution in 2019, demand is increasing so it is supporting key customers with reducing CO2 by using sea freight, offering greater consumer responsiveness.

Katie Brickle, IG’s ecommerce and brand account manager, explained: “Sustainability is a key business priority and focus for DG UK. As a market leader, we aim to minimise our impact on the environment in which we can use our scale and people to influence and drive positive, proactive change.

“We are devoted to producing with integrity, authenticity and pride ourselves on being completely plastic-free – without any unnecessary packaging.

The Eco Nature single card offering comprises 33 designs featuring affirmations, positivity, coordinated designs and honest sentiments. “Eco Nature is at the heart of our sustainability strategy – this is a major launch for us!” reinforced Katie.

Initially launched through Tesco, the Eco Nature brand is now available to all retailers. An FSDU has been created to house the 33 single cards, while the giftwrappings collection includes two wraps and eight bags in each of two collections, and the Christmas range has boxed cards and two wraps and eight bags in each of two collections.
