Mary Engelbreit brings snark to Designer Greetings

Iconic card designer adds Engeldark to publisher’s Madison Park brand

Greeting card design icon Mary Engelbreit has joined forces with US publisher Designer Greetings for a brand-new range, bringing a touch of snark to her iconic illustrations.

Following on from its first appearance exhibiting at PG Live this year, Designer Greetings has expanded its collections with a collaboration for the Engeldark line of cards and stationery by Mary Engelbreit under its artist-driven Madison Park brand.

“Partnering with Designer Greetings on the Engeldark line has been an exciting journey of creativity,” Mary said. “This collection allows me to merge my love for whimsy and nostalgia with darker elements, creating cards that provoke thought and stir the imagination. It’s a privilege to see my art take on new forms and touch the hearts of a diverse audience.”

Born and raised in St Louis, Missouri, Mary’s drawings dramatise familiar childhood perceptions with characters, sayings and scenes often derived directly from her observations and memories, and the Engeldark designs blend fun and relatability with her irreverent sense of humour.

As Designer Greetings’ president Steven Gimbelman summed up: “Mary is one of America’s best-selling artists. We are proud to add her artistry to our ever-growing Madison Park line-up, for the new range.”

Although Designer Greetings has a thriving export business for many of its ranges, this collection is currently only available in the US and Canada.
