Ohh Deer offers Flash Marketplace for artists

Publisher shares print-on-demand platform for cards and stationery

There’s a new way for artists to get their greeting cards in front of the public – Ohh Deer’s first Flash Marketplace which gives everybody access to its printer and audience.

Having just expanded its print-on-demand platform, for a limited time only, Ohh Deer co-owners Mark Callaby and Jamie Mitchell are allowing anyone to upload their artwork and earn commission from the sale of their own designs of cards and notebooks.

“They can reach our audience of over 800,000 card and stationery lovers,” Mark said. “You do the designing and promote your products and we’ll take care of the fulfilment – think of it as a virtual pop-up shop, it’s only here for a limited time, until 20 April.

“We’re incredibly excited to share our brand-new Flash Marketplace where we’re opening up access to our printers and Ohh Deer audience for everyone.”

The Flash Marketplace is on Ohh Deer’s website where people can register to sell and upload designs – and they keep complete ownership of their artwork, while earning 20% commission from the final sale price of the item, minus the vat. For a £19.95 notebook, that gives the artist £3.32 from the £16.63 exc vat price.

Payments will be made 30 days after the end of the Marketplace via PayPal, and artists can keep track of sales figures through their Ohh Deer account.

Mark and Jamie have included lots of helpful information on artwork requirements, and will be promoting a selection of the products via social media, newsletters and press coverage.

Most uploads are expected to be processed within 20 minutes, although it may take longer when upload volume is high. Greeting card orders will be dispatched the same day if ordered before 2pm, while notebooks will be posted out four days after the order is received.
