‘Shop Early, Start wrapping, Enjoy Christmas’ Is BRC’s Festive Marketing Campaign

In what is music to the ears of greeting card retailers, the British Retail Consortium (BRC) has launched a mega national advertising campaign to encourage the public to get into the Christmas spirit early this year. The BRC’s ‘Shop early, start wrapping, enjoy Christmas’ campaign urges everyone to shop earlier and avoid a last-minute retail rush to ensure everyone has the space they need to stay safe while delivering the magic of Christmas.

The BRC campaign, which kicked off a few days ago, sees adverts being run across national print, radio and social channels until early November.

“Whilst celebrations will no doubt be a little different this year, we know customers want to keep Christmas special,” says Helen Dickinson, chief executive of the British Retail Consortium, explaining the rationale behind encouraging early festive shopping.

Echoing the many cardies’ experiences, Helen added that “BRC’s September sales figures show signs some customers have already started a little earlier than usual, as spreading your Christmas shopping has many benefits in today’s climate – from safety to managing finances. However, we want more people to embrace the true Christmas spirit, think of others and ‘Shop Early, Start Wrapping’ and most of all Enjoy Christmas – however they are celebrating”.
