The Final Countdown For Publishers To Enter The Henries 2020 Awards

With midnight next Tuesday (July 28) being the deadline for entering The Henries greeting card awards, greeting card publishers and giftwrappings companies have only five days left to enter their wonderful product ranges into this year’s important competition.

In a change from the norm, in light of the Covid-19 ongoing situation, entry into The Henries is completely online for this year.

“Normally at this time of year our offices would be filled by a mountain of boxes, Jiffy bags and envelopes containing over 14,000 greeting cards and giftwrappings products. This year our excitement has come from tracking the online submissions with the last few days especially seeing something of a frenzy as publishers upload the images of their ranges,” said Warren Lomax, joint managing director of Max Publishing, which owns and organises The Henries.

For publishers who have not yet entered The Henries, there is still time. It’s free and pretty easy to enter via the new online portal (https://www.thehenriesawards.co.uk/enter/).

Meanwhile, in addition to being able to nominate online via The Henries’ website, thousands of independent retailers have been contacted by the Max Publishing team asking them to nominate the card publishers they feel have given them the best service over the last year in order to arrive at top contenders for the much coveted Best Service To The Independent Retailer trio of trophies.

In a call to action, the correspondence with indies detailed ‘As a retailer in these testing times, you are a master at providing good service to customers, but which of your greeting card suppliers are providing you with the best service?’
Indies have been asked to nominate who they each consider are their  top three greeting card suppliers on the service front, providing their first, second and third choices.
“Help us recognise and reward those publishers who are helping your business!” implores the letter from Max Publishing.

Retailers have until August 5 to make their nominations count (https://www.thehenriesawards.co.uk/enter/). Any indie who has ‘slipped through the net’ can email their trio of nominees (in total confidence) to jakkib@max-publishing.co.uk

As in previous years, there will be a Bronze, Silver and ultimate Gold trophy for this prestigious award category.

Know anyone in the greeting card industry who is a true hero; someone you think needs to be acknowledged for their huge contribution to the greeting card industry? There is still time to submit your nominations (in strict confidence) for The Henries Honorary Achievement Award 2020 as the closing deadline for this category is not until 5 August 2020. Submissions can be made online via The Henries website (https://www.thehenriesawards.co.uk/enter/) or by emailing Jakki Brown, PG editor and co-owner of Max Publishing on jakkib@max-publishing.co.uk.

All of The Henries product entries will be judging online by an extensive panel of retailers over the course of a week in early August. Any greeting card stockist is welcome to become part of the panel by emailing jakkib@max-publishing.co.uk to show their interest.
