Masking An Opportunity For Retailers To Offer Attractive Protection

With both retailers and publishing businesses readying to re-open as lockdown eases so the need and demand for personal face coverings is set to increase.

As evidenced by what has happened in the States, where greeting card shops have been able to trade for a while, retailers such as Paper Source have been keen to offer attractive personal face masks as well as hand sanitiser for sale in their shops.

Anticipating a longer term need for the general public for personal PPE items, Dutch company, TMS has been quick off the mark to come up with a range of attractively packaged disposable facemasks.

As Vincent Schumann, md of the Dutch-based publisher and manufacturer pointed out: “We are now living in a time in which the wearing of a facemask is becoming a daily reality, across the globe. The necessity to protect ourselves and others has become the utmost priority.”

The company, which started producing its own face masks in January, in order to protect its staff and their families, recognised that, if presented in attractive packs it would present an opportunity for retailers to stock them. While the initial launch includes packs containing five plain masks, patterned masks are soon to follow. It has devised a counter display stand to hold 60 packs (10 packs of six different designs).

While Five Dollar Shake and Wrendale Designs have both developed specific social distancing posters for retailers to display in their shops (https://www.pgbuzz.net/wrendale-designs-and-laura-sherratt-designs-both-help-in-the-grand-re-opening-effort/), industry maestros of cardboard packaging solutions (having provided many indies with bespoke boxes for their online orders), N Smith is now offering companies a suite of free standing display items and signage to help stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

The FSDU includes pockets which can accommodate hand-sanitiser, disinfectant or other PPE items.
