UKG’s Mind’s On Mental Health And Wellness

UK Greetings is pledging its support to help raise awareness of mental health issues through a new male card collection, which is to raise money for mental health charity, Mind.

In addition, the publisher is also instigating a whole programme of initiatives for its staff to support wellbeing and general health.

With next week being Mental Health Awareness Week (13-19 May), organised by the Mental Health Foundation, UKG will be doing its bit both externally and internally.

UKG’s new Mind collection comprises seven male greeting cards, the bold designs of which have been inspired by the 90s, featuring retro typography and accompanying bright yellow envelope. The launch is being supported by PoS which explains that 20p from each card sold (RRP £2.29) will be donated to the charity.

Although newly launched, the collection has been well received by UKG’s retail customers.

As Clare Lewin, from In Time in Hazelmere commented: “It’s so nice to see a fresh new male range, especially one that supports such a worthy charity.”

Coinciding with this publishing activity, UKG’s People First campaign sees a two month programme of activities run throughout May and June with the aim of helping to improve the general wellbeing and mental health of those who work at its three sites in Dewsbury, Yorkshire.

The programme will involve guest speakers, craft activities and expert advice including seated yoga lessons, mindfulness tutoring, origami sessions as well as financial planning.

As Sandi Parisi, creative director UK Greetings summed up: “Wellness is a trend that is all pervasive that underlines how wonderful this industry is. After eating and sleeping, the need to feel safe, loved and cared for are our key needs and greeting cards help in this.”
