Georgia Breeze Forms Collaboration With Ling Design

Ling Design has forged a licensing partnership with Cornwall-based designer Georgia Breeze and will launch their first range of cards under the collaboration at Spring Fair next February.

Georgia launched her card business in 2014 and her handmade designs caught the eye of Ling Design’s ceo David Byk. He offered Georgia support to develop her card offer and give access to the greater opportunities available through all of Ling’s UK and export sales channels.

The Bath-based Ling Design creative team has spent time working with Georgia to carefully craft a new range, which will be branded as ‘Georgia Breeze by Ling Design’ and feature an initial 32 designs.

Commenting, Georgia said: “Collaborating with Ling is a new and exciting chapter for my business. This is a great opportunity for me to grow my brand, with such an established and successful company. “

Georgia summed up working alongside Ling as “a fantastic experience” and believes that the collaboration will enable her to spend more time on the creative element of her business “and really develop my portfolio as a surface pattern designer.”

Thankful for all the support she has received over the past four years, Georgia says she has “met some fantastic people and feel proud to be a part of this industry. With this additional support from Ling I am now looking forward to the future of Georgia Breeze.”

Paying tribute to Georgia’s talent, David Byk, Ling Design ceo, highlighted how she has built up “a strong and distinctive identity in cards, creating a new look in a crowded market, which is no mean feat.”

Elaborating on the benefits to both parties in the collaboration, he said: “There are many card designers and artists who have huge enthusiasm, creativity and drive but we all know we operate in a complex market. We hope that in this licensing collaboration Ling has created the opportunity for Georgia’s cards to be seen by lots more people and that this will give her more time to concentrate on the creative.”

Under the arrangement, David highlighted how the Ling team will look “to take away the pressures of selling, marketing, cash flow, range build, warehousing, administration, stocks and complexity that can stop great designers having a long term sustainable future in this industry.”

Attendees at Spring Fair 2019 will be able to see the full collection of cards on the Ling Design stand, 3Q18-R21, alongside the rest of the Ling Design, Talking Pictures, Saffron and The Curious Inksmith offer.
