Sound And Vision Of The GCA AGM & Conference

For James Conn, ceo of UKG it was that “the industry has a great future”.

For Tim Rudd-Clarke, co-owner of Gemma International it was about how we confront the waste issue in the sector.

For Jennie Procter, co-founder and co-owner of Scribbler it was to be among industry greats from the publishing side as well as hear from retailing ‘gurus’.

For Tony Lorriman, managing director of Loxleys it was putting competitiveness to one side and sharing ideas and information.

For Karen Hubbard, ceo of Card Factory it was learning more about the industry’s concerns and what part the retailer will play in its future.

James Mace, sales and marketing manager of The Art File it was the consumer insights from Moonpig, such as the need for supportive ‘Thinking of You’ captions.

For Raj Arora, founder of Davora it was understanding the inner workings of the industry leaders in high street and online retail (Card Factory and Moonpig).

For Kate Leach, head of marketing for Woodmansterne it was the wealth of information on the environmental side.

For Charlotte Gale, founder of Pictur-esque it was the laying out of the different packaging options for cards and the pros and cons of each.

For Lizzie Turner, picture researcher for Arcangel it was about the direction the market and consumer tastes are going.

* A full report of the GCA AGM and Conference will appear in the November edition of Progressive Greetings, which is published shortly.
