The greeting card specialist will be embracing the GCA-instigated initiative in all its 355 stores with window displays, instore displays and a 30% money off promotion across all its everyday specialist greeting cards in the week leading up to the event, which falls September 24-30 this year.

Now in its 5th year, Thinking of You Week was conceived by the GCA to encourage the public to send extra cards to show they care, offer support or just to say hello.

Clintons, which is a retail member of the GCA, has developed its own suite of Point of Sale in support of Thinking of You Week, but based very much on the branding that is available for all to download free of charge from the Thinking of You Week toolkit at www.thinkingofyouweek.cards

As to Clintons’ aims for its Thinking of You Week activities this year, Nicola Miller, card buyer of the multiple chain is in no doubt: “to provoke customer interest in the event and drive footfall!!”

In addition to hosting a wealth of information and inspiration for anyone looking to get involved in Thinking of You Week, a new addition to the event’s dedicated website, is gallery of greeting card designs from the GCA’s publisher members that would be ideally suited as a Thinking of You Week send. “The gallery is a wonderful celebration of what is so great about the UK publishing community. It features 93 very different cards, from 48 different publishers, which embody the spirit of Thinking of You Week,” commented Sharon Little, ceo of the GCA. And in the final run up to the event, both Autumn Fair (September 2-5) and Top Drawer (September 9-11) will have displays of cards on special GCA/Thinking of You Week branded walls of happiness. “These displays have the great add on benefit helping member exhibitors attract buyers onto their stands at the show. There is still time to submit cards for the walls!”
