The Henries Official Tickets Are Top Of The Pops

Taking inspiration from Top of the Pops and tapping into the fun and vibrancy of the 1980s theme of this year’s Henries greeting card awards, the official ticket for the industry’s ‘big night’ has that extra dimension!

The Paper Rose/The Art Group design team took on the challenge of designing the ticket and really went to town getting into the 80s Electric Dreams groove, coming up with a wonderfully retro design that is only fully appreciated by donning the pair of 3D glasses which accompanies each ticket.

Paper Rose’ designer Jojo Eccles explains the inspiration behind the creative executive of this year’s keepsake ticket: “We wanted to give a nostalgic nod to one of the most iconic TV shows of the 80s – Top of the Pops. Using a variety of digital techniques and experimentation we created the awesome neon sign and 3D effect you can see on the front of ticket.”

She reveals that another element of 80s magic is a cool retro cassette tape inside the sleeve. Explaining about this, Jojo summed up: “We wanted to bring back as much nostalgia as possible. Nothing boosts 80s creativity more than rocking out to a bit of Bon Jovi in the studio – if only we still had our Walkmans!”

The ticket is now in production with greeting card printer Windles undertaking the printing and production with GF Smith donating the board.

  • The winners of all Henries categories will be announced on Thursday October 4 at the lavish awards event on an 1980s Electric Dreams theme, that will take place at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London. For tickets call Clare Davies of Createvents on 01183 340085 or email clare@createvents.co.uk.
