Being a judge at The Henries was something of a retailing buying swansong for Rachel, especially as she was joined on the panel by her WHS colleagues, Claire Castle, senior card buyer for the main high street chain and Katie Briggs, assistant buyer for Funky Pigeon and the WHSmith Travel side.

Rachel admitted a deep fondness for the greeting card trade: “It is such a wonderful industry, full of great people and incredible products. I will miss it, but at least I am not that far away.”

Rachel’s new post is to head up the sales side of the entrepreneurial funky gift and homewares company, Suck UK, based in the trendy London OXO Galleries area on the Southbank of the Thames.

In addition to Suck UK’s wholesale arm, the company also operates a popular store onsite stocking its own products as well as those from upcoming designers and overseas design-led companies.

“I know it will be a challenge moving to the supplier side, but I am really looking forward to embracing the opportunity,” Rachel told PG Buzz.
