Publishers donate designs for charity Christmas cards

Hannah Dale, founder of Wrendale Designs, is continuing Lynn Tait’s legacy in raising funds for Action Medical Research (AMR) charity through co-ordinating the production of Christmas card packs featuring designs donated by those who have been involved with The Ladder Club and generously produced by suppliers free of charge.

Over £50,000 has been raised for Action Medical Research through the sale of card packs over the past 5 years.

Continuing Lynn’s (who sadly died last June) dream, a full 100% of the proceeds will go to the charity. This is only possible thanks to generosity of trade suppliers Loxleys, GF Smith, Enveco and Fulcrum Films who are covering the cost of the cards’ production.

“We were completely inundated with so many wonderful designs from the talented Ladder Club members and it was really hard to decide which designs to take forward into the final collection,” says Hannah. “I worked alongside the charity to come up with a selection that they felt would work best for their demographic and also include a variety of styles. I’m really pleased with the final designs and I am so grateful to all of the designers who have contributed to it. We are really hopeful that we can raise a lot of money and do Lynn proud!”

Among the publishers who have donated artwork for the initiative include Jessica Hogarth, Just a Little Note, Megan Claire, Nicki Sclater, Pippi & Me Trumper’s World, Val Goldfinch Designs and Wendy Jones-Blackett.

Having been involved in previous years’ packs, by donating artwork Hannah was approached by AMR’s community fundraising manager Lucy Hynes to ask she would consider taking on the responsibility of co-ordinating the project for 2018. Lucy has been involved in the initiative since Lynn suggested it back in 2013, raising £50,000 for AMR through the sale of the packs over the last five years.

The cards will be sold to AMR supporters via its website as well as through the charity’s network of volunteers.
