Waterstones’ Hazel Walker To Speak At The Calies Calendar And Diary Awards

Leading retail buyer, Hazel Walker is to share her experienced views on the calendar, diary and Advents sector has been confirmed as a keynote speaker at The Calies 2019 UK calendar awards event, which takes place on Tuesday 19 November at the historic Stationers’ Hall in London’s St Paul’s. Prior to joining Waterstones in April, Hazel spent a total of nine years working for Paperchase.

She will be one of the pre-awards ceremony speakers at the late afternoon/early evening awards event.

Organised and owned by Max Publishing (owner of Progressive Greetings), The Calies 2019, now in their third year, recognise and reward excellence across the calendars, diaries and Advents spectrum with categories covering retail, charity and B2B titles.

Commenting, Warren Lomaxco-owner of The Calies said: “It is wonderful the way The Calies have been fully embraced by the wide calendar and diary community and have quickly become established as respected accolades. Last year’s Calies attracted a record number of entries and the awards event itself was incredibly well-attended by retailers, publishers, trade suppliers and licensors.”

Free and easy to enter, publishers and producers of calendar, diary and Advents are being urged to enter their 2020 dated products, as well as new Advents.

A downloadable an entry form is available from The Calies website (www.theukcalendarawards.co.uk). The deadline for entering is Friday 4 October.

The retail entries will be judged by a panel of knowledgeable retail buyers while the corporate (B2B) categories will go under the scrutiny of industry and design experts.

“The Calies not only celebrate the excellence and innovation that exude on the product front, but also serve to champion the product area to retailers as well as corporate clients on the B2B front,” added Warren.
