The Henries 2021: See You Tomorrow!

Hundreds of ‘groovers and shakers’ from the greeting card community will be sashaying down the proverbial red carpet tomorrow evening (Thursday 7 October) for the industry’s comeback celebration at The Henries 2021 awards event, taking place in the elegant Royal Lancaster Hotel in London and hosted by Tom Allen.

“It really will be the night to celebrate the talent, passion and resilience of our industry, which has risen to the seismic changes and challenges with great aplomb,” states Warren Lomax, joint managing director of Max Publishing, which owns and organises The Henries.

All finalists feature in The Henries keepsake brochure which will be given to all guests, but you can view it online by clicking here.

Adding to the Boogie Wonderland theme of The Henries, the ‘placecard’ for every attendee will be an actual 7” vinyl single, featuring hits from the disco era.

“When Ohh Deer’s Mark Callaby suggested sponsoring the records as an idea, to follow on from the historic greeting card we gave to everyone for the last physical Henries event, we jumped to it, scouring record collectors’ sites, charity shops and auctions to build an impressive musical anthology of retro hits,” explained PG’s Jim Bullough.

The records will also be used in a Higher and Lower elimination quiz, with the winner not only receiving a magnum of chilled champagne, but a 12” version of Earth Wind and Fire’s Boogie Wonderland hit.

In addition to witnessing which ranges and publishers will win the prestigious Henries awards, there will be many other lucky winners during the course of the evening, thanks to an incredible raffle that will raise funds for The Light Fund charity.
