A chance meeting with Willie Harcourt-Cooze, from Channel 4’s Willie’s Chocolate Revolution resulted in Jeremy Corner, md of Blue Eyed Sun clinching a chocolatey cross promotion for the card publisher’s customers.
In January, Blue Eyed Sun customers will receive a free gift of Willie’s Cacao truffles with every Valentine’s greeting card order shipped. Customers will also have the chance to purchase Willie’s products at a very special rate just for Blue Eyed Sun customers.
Jeremy met Willie through friends on a trip to Hay-on-Wye last year and found out that they both had a lot in common. “We share a lot of similar brand values: passion for the products we sell, handmade quality, attention to detail and many of our customers share similar traits,” says Jeremy. “As we both exhibit at some similar shows like Top Drawer we thought it might be fun to do some cross promotion. I recognised several of his customers as we sell to them already and thought that more of ours would be interested in Willie’s products and vice versa. It doesn’t damage either brand as we both sell different products that don’t compete for retail space. I like trying innovative marketing ideas, partnerships, referral schemes and ways of working together that are mutually beneficial. When Willie suggested we do something together I thought it would be interesting to see what came of it.”
Blue Eyed Sun will be exhibiting at Top Drawer (stand T42) this month January 14-16, London Olympia), launching a new colourful new range called Daydream. Willie’s Cacao will also be at Top Drawer on stand FE443.
