Thinking of You Week livery unveiled by the GCA

The 2018 Thinking of You Week logos and posters have been designed, are now available to download from the dedicated website (www.thinkingofyouweek.cards) and will be on display at PG Live (5 – 6 June) on the GCA area outside the Gallery Hall (where the lunch is served).

“The Thinking of You Week website has now gone live and the build-up to this year’s event has already started,” says Sharon Little, ceo of the GCA. “The website’s free toolkit is live, with all its beautiful assets including the gorgeous banner, consumer handouts, an event poster, an email sign off and social media banner headers. This is now the fifth Thinking of You Week and it continues to go from strength to strength. Every year we refresh the branding to keep it looking interesting and relevant.”

The idea behind Thinking of You Week (which this year will be marked 24 – 30 September) is to create a wave of happiness and caring through sending extra greeting cards as a show of caring and support. “All the research shows the positive emotional impact receiving a card can have on a person,” says Sharon. “It is much stronger than any form of digital message.”

Retailers are encouraged to download the branded Thinking of You Week POS material, posters and fliers from the dedicated Thinking of You Week website and use them in-store in displays and promotions. “Feedback from retailers is that as a result of this great campaign, they have seen Thinking of You growing as a year round caption, what a great result. It’s a great way for retailers to draw people instore, but also get involved in the community, perhaps by running a school competition, working with a charity or a local hospital,” says Sharon. “There’s so much scope and the main thing is that we’re raising the profile of sending cards, which is great.”

• This year for the first time, Thinking of You Week will be celebrated both sides of the Atlantic simultaneously. As announced on PG Buzz on Tuesday, the US Greeting Card Association will launch the American version of Thinking of You Week, together with distinct US-branding at the 2018 National Stationery Show, which takes place at New York’s Javits Center May 20-23. “It is fantastic to see that this initiative is being picked up by the American Greeting Card Association as well,” says Sharon. “The message behind Thinking of You Week is one that works across the globe.”
