The Art File’s Caring And Sharing Thinking Of You Week Activities

The Art File is really getting behind Thinking of You Week more than ever before, by donating free cards to care homes, hospital wards, schools and charities – and is also offering to collect and post the cards once they have been written!

In readiness for next week’s GCA-instigated Thinking of You Week (September 21-27), yesterday alone saw The Art File deliver boxes of its greeting cards to local care home Leawood Manor, Nottingham’s Children’s Hospital (QMC) and local charity Base51 (which provides counselling support to 12-25 year olds) to inspire, encourage and facilitate positive connections to be made through the sending of cards next week.

“The power of the written word combined with our desire to connect with friends and loved ones means that greeting cards are now more important than ever,” says managing director Ged Mace. “Kindness, consideration, compassion, appreciation and the wish to stay connected with family and friends have been reoccurring desires that have resounded across the nation during the past six months,” he added.

As Ged points out “at the peak of the lockdown, when Captain Tom completed his amazing fundraising achievement, it was the birthday card that tens of thousands of people chose to express their gratitude to this national hero, proving that card sending is an important part of people’s expressions of emotion and appreciation. We want to bring this to the local community, and make sending a physical, meaningful message to a loved one as easy as possible to mark Thinking of You Week.”

The Art File will be joining in with the online Thinking of You Week campaign, with updates of its community’s activities, inspiration for card sending and a competition on social media with the prize being a ‘thinking of you’ card bundle so the winner can continue spreading the positive message.

The Art File joins with many other publishers and retailers who have shared how they are getting behind Thinking of You Week (https://www.pgbuzz.net/card-factory-sainsburys-asda-paperchase-join-cardzone-in-committing-to-thinking-of-you-week-initiatives/), but there is still time to get involved. Head to the Thinking of You Week website (https://www.thinkingofyouweek.cards/) for ideas and downloadable assets, including those that can be used on social media.
