Scribbler has just opened what is its largest store ever right in the heart of Leeds city centre.
And, in a blast from the past, the new store features the original Scribbler scripted logo, which appears both outside and inside the store in illuminated neon to make it something of a ‘beacon’ in the Yorkshire city.
“In these gloomy times, it’s good to share some good news!” exclaimed Jennie Procter, co-founder of the Scribbler group.
The quirky specialist multiple has been trading in Leeds for many years, but the lease on its former city centre store came to an end and the landlord was looking to redevelop. Fortuitously a new lease came up on a store, double the size, in the vicinity.
“We were lucky enough to be able to take a new lease on a shop on the same street, which is double the size and probably our largest store to date,” Jennie told PG Buzz.
She said that the store, which opened on Wednesday, traded “really well” right from the off.
“It gives us confidence to push forward with shop openings and refurbishments. I hope our enthusiasm is not misplaced!!!” Jennie added.
