Say it with Songs’ love story plays on

Publisher pulls at public’s heart strings while also moving into gifts and apparel

Say it with Songs has made quite a noise since it blasted on to the scene in September 2020 with its innovative concept that combines song lyrics on a greeting card with streamable music, but things are getting a whole lot louder.

The company founded by former music exec Ellie Fitzgerald has been expanding globally – it’s moving into new product areas and gaining public attention with an inventive marketing and publicity campaign.

Forming part of its Valentine’s campaign, entitled Real People, Real Love, Say it with Songs took to the streets with a film crew to ask members of the public to reveal their favourite love song and the reasons why.

The personal comments and top picks span a vast musical repertoire – from Led Zeppelin’s Since I’ve Been Loving You to Edith Piaf’s La Vie En Rose and a lot in between – and reinforce the strong emotional connection we all have with music in its many guises, making it an ideal bedfellow for greeting cards.

In addition to sharing the resultant film (click above to watch) widely on social media channels, Say it with Songs has also attracted the attention of the print media, with The Sun’s Fabulous, the UK’s most-read women’s magazine with 2.2 million readers, including a Day In The Life of Ellie in its recent edition.

As Ellie sums up: “Music is a universal language that we all understand. Where words fail, music speaks and the true beauty is that it connects people – the strongest form of magic.”
