Peony & Pangolin’s upcycling solution

PG Live debutants’ passion for paper sees P&P Planet eco initiative add value

Posting on the love is the aim behind PG Live debutants Peony & Pangolin’s eco-initiative where they encourage card recipients to extend the life-cycle of a greeting by sending it on.

As retailers turned publishers, Peony & Pangolin’s co-founders Dani Cooper and Lisa Barrett have a passion for paper and the little things in life, and are determined to make sure their products justify the time people spend finding the perfect card, then add the personal touch with a hand-written message.

They explained: “Alongside our varied collections, which include kids, zodiac and a range to personalise, we’re very excited to be launching our new eco initiative – P&P Planet. This concept aims to extend the life cycle of each card, particularly through encouraging recipients to send it on using the nifty postcard template printed inside each card!”

By featuring scissor-cut marks the girls hope some recipients will cut off the front of the card and send it on as a postcard to someone else.

“We hope P&P Planet demonstrates how we can reuse materials and add value for the customer, while helping to care for the planet,” said Dani and Lisa.

While working together at Dani’s bijou gift shop Hullabaloo in Mayfield, East Sussex, the ladies dreamed of creating their own greeting cards but, when they finally took the plunge in early 2020 and signed up for PG Live, but the pandemic put their trade show debut on hold.

With just a couple of weeks before Peony & Pangolin unveils its wares on stand 716 at the Business Design Centre, where PG Live 2022 runs over Tuesday and Wednesday, 7-8 June, the girls are getting excited: “It’s quite a different experience being on the other side of the track, but we feel lucky to be part of such a friendly and supportive industry and we’re very much looking forward to finally meeting retailers and fellow publishers face to face – we’ve also heard that the drinks party is legendary!”

To enjoy PG Live for yourself, all you need to do is register here and you will receive a free Show Preview to give you a taster of just some of the ranges that will be on offer, meaning that you’ll be on your way to discovering your new best sellers as well as catching up with all your industry friends!
