Grassroots campaign launches online Christmas Fair tonight and annual Indie Week
Summer may only have just ended but there are only 15 Sundays until Christmas – and Just A Card is getting ready to help indie shops, artists, makers and small businesses with a festive boost.
The seventh annual Just A Card Indie Week alternative to Black Friday is in the planning, and will coincide with a second edition of the popular online Christmas Fair in November, in collaboration with HandmadeHour.

Founder Sarah Hamilton, who came up with the grassroots campaign after hearing an indie shop plead that buying “just a card” would have stopped them from closing, announced the events yesterday, 14 September, with applications for the Christmas Fair, running over 20-27 November, opening at 7pm this evening.
“Last year’s Christmas Fair was incredibly popular,” Sarah explained, “and we’ve had to make the difficult decision to strictly limit numbers, in order to keep this manageable. Watch out for the email at 7pm so you don’t miss out on getting your slot – once they’re gone, they’re gone!”

You don’t have to take part in the Christmas Fair to be involved with Indie Week, which will be running on Monday to Friday, 20-24 November, with more details of this initiative to be announced shortly.
In the current economic situation, Just A Card is determined to champion artists, makers, indie shops, and small businesses, and encourage people to shop local.
