Comedian Henry Paker has been secured as the host for The Calies 2018 calendar and diary awards which take place on Wednesday 28 November at the historic Stationers’ Hall, next to London’s St Paul’s Cathedral.
In addition, the early evening awards event will also include peppy speeches from industry experts, including Jack Straw, md of BrownTrout Publishing and David Pike, group director of Calendar Club and Carousel Calendars, as well as a drinks and canapé reception.
“Thanks to passion, commitment and support from publishers, suppliers and retailers, despite only debuting last year, The Calies have become an established date on the…calendar!” said Warren Lomax, joint md of Max Publishing, which owns and organises The Calies. We’re delighted not only that The Calies attracted more entries from more publishers this year, but also that so many leading retailers were only too pleased to participate by joining the judging panel as well as attend the awards event,” he added.
WHSmith, John Lewis, Waterstones, Card Factory and House of Cards are among the retail names who are looking forward to join with calendar and diary producers at The Calies this year.
Paying tribute to the industrywide support for The calies, Warren added: “We could never have got The Calies off the ground without the belief and input from our strong roster of sponsors and supporters. We really could not have hoped for better headline sponsors of The Calies 2018 than Calendar Club, Carousel Calendars, Danilo, EightDays A Week, Premier Paper Group, Reeve Calendars, Renz and Rose Calendars.”
