Hannah Dale draws in comp entries

Win a hand-painted pet portrait contest gives Wrendale fans chance to appear on products

It’s competition time with Wrendale Designs’ Hannah Dale offering a hand-painted pet portrait which will also feature on the greeting card and gift company’s products and 2026 calendar.

Being run through social media, the competition is open to anyone who’d like their pet immortalised by the talented illustrator known for her detailed animal artworks – and over 1,000 entries came in on the first day!

The entry form asks for the type of pet – bird, cat, dog, guinea pig, hamster, horse, rabbit or other – and gives tips on the type of photo, specifying showing the whole animal from head to paws, taken from the pet’s eye level, with the deadline over this weekend.

“I’m really excited about the competition,” Hannah told PG Buzz, “I get asked all the time to paint people’s pets but rarely have the time, so this felt like a lovely opportunity.

“We’ve been absolutely overwhelmed by the entries – we had over a thousand in the first day! We’ve had a lovely time going through the photographs that have been sent in. There has been a huge variety – lots of cats and dogs as you would imagine but also horses, chickens and even a snake!

“It’s incredibly hard to choose which ones to paint, it’s so obvious how much love everyone has for their animals. We have said there will be two winners but we’ve had so many lovely entries I’m going to see if I can squeeze in another one or two if I can.”

The winners, to be announced on 29 December, will each receive Hannah’s original artwork, as well as being featured on Wrendale products, which range from greeting cards through gifts to homeware, as well as the 2026 calendar collection which is currently being worked on.
