Hallmark UK is bringing the production of all its roll wrap back to the UK. By late 2018 all of the publisher’s roll wrap will be manufactured at its Brighouse factory in West Yorkshire.

Prior to this Hallmark, outsourced its roll wrap production overseas.

Hallmark went for it with its recent giftwrappings launch as it is the 100th anniversary collection.

The change comes as a result of considerable investment in the latest flexographic printing technology at the publisher’s in-house production facility as well as upgrading its existing machinery and operations.

“It’s fitting that in the year Hallmark are celebrating the centenary of inventing giftwrap, that we are announcing our commitment to improvements that will help serve us for the next 100 years,” commented John Franey, Hallmark’s supply chain director. He added that the investment is just “the first step” in growing its gift wrap production, “allowing us to better serve our customers with the innovative and quality products we are famous for.”

This news comes only a few weeks after Hallmark announced that it has created 100 new jobs, increasing its UK workforce to over 2,000 employees.

The news, which was positively received in Yorkshire, sees new permanent jobs being created within Hallmark’s distribution centres at Dawson Lane in Bradford and also at its facility in River Street in Brighouse.

The entire production of Hallmark’s roll wrap will be done in West Yorkshire, having been outsourced overseas for years.
