Hallmark and American Greetings bring American Mother’s Day to life

In celebration of the Mother’s Day, which was marked on Sunday (13 May in the States), American Greetings and Hallmark both commissioned YouTube videos to bring stories about mums to life.

American Greetings’ specially commissioned YouTube video – Just Like my Mom – bought to life stories that visitors to AG’s Facebook page shared about the things they do that are ‘just like mom’. The one-minute long video shared things like ‘always using coasters’, ‘singing out loud in the car out of tune’ and ‘making Grandma’s meatloaf’.

The video is available on a Mother’s Day digital hub on American Greetings’ main website (www.americangreetings.com). In addition to the video, consumers could read tips on what to write in their card, gift ideas to spoil their mums, DIY gift wrap tutorials as well as purchase greeting cards, print-at-home options, gift packaging and party goods.

Meanwhile Hallmark teamed up with American actress and model Julie Bowen, to surprise mums with an oversized Mother’s Day card with the heart rending reaction captured in a series of YouTube clips. In the clips families brought their mums to the giant card in a park in Los Angeles and surprised them with a special handwritten message in the giant card, their reactions to which were filmed live. The five videos received between 500,000 – 1 million views already!
