A trailblazing new concept that brings greeting cards to life is to be unveiled by Greetanica at Progressive Greetings Live next week (July 27-28).
GreetCodes takes cards and gifts to a new level of personalisation and excitement, by enabling people to easily attach a digital video song, video message, or any other link through using QR codes. The easy-to-use technology enables consumers to scan the QR code with their smartphone camera and upload or record their video. Then, the recipient of the card or gift scans the affixed GreetCode, and the video plays on their phone, enabling the 2D experience of receiving a card, looking at an album or enjoying a customised gift to come to life in 3D via a digital video.
The brainchild of Tel Aviv-based tech entrepreneurs, Greetanica co-founders Yair Hazan and Noam Levkovitz, GreetCodes come in several formats.
For retailers, GreetCode stickers are being launched in individual packs of physical stickers (in display units of 60 sticker packs) which can be bought by consumers and affixed to a greeting card or indeed any other gift purchase, to turn it into a video-rich experience for their loved one.
Greetanica is also launching a range of 100 greeting card designs (printed in the UK) covering a range of occasions which already feature an embedded GreetCode, all ready for the purchaser to upload their video or link.
GreetCodes API has also been developed for those offering online album makers or digital gift shops, enabling GreetCodes to be added anywhere they choose on their customised album or gift as part of the customisation experience, printed as a QR code on the final product.
In addition, Greetanica founders Yair and Noam are also keen for other card publishers to incorporate a GreetCode into their products, with ready-to-print codes available to be purchased directly from the website on the Makers page.
Yair has his three children to thank as being the inspiration for Greetanica.
“I have had a software development company for many years, but it was through having fun developing a game with my children using QR codes which sparked the idea for Greetanica, so I owe them!” admitted Yair.
Greetanica will be showing at PG Live next week (July 27-28) on stand 343.
