Final call for young creative entries to The Henries

Lynn Tait Most Promising Young Designer Or Artist award submissions due by July 27

Designers and artists are getting creative with their entries for the Lynn Tait Most Promising Young Designer Or Artist category in The Henries 2022 which will celebrate the wealth of talent in the greeting card industry.

There’s still time to submit an entry for the category which is open to all creatives – and that includes artists, illustrators, designers, photographers, and font maestros – employed by a publisher or freelance, aged 35 or under on 1 July, but you have to be quick as entries must arrive by Wednesday, 27 July.

It’s completely free to enter and entrants are invited to submit a mood board which showcases their creative talents, including their approach to greeting card design.

“There’s no size limitation to submissions, which should include information about yourself and your inspirations as well as examples of work such as greeting card designs and anything that highlights your artistic prowess,” explained Jakki Brown, md of Max Publishing which owns and organises The Henries. “Come on you wonderful creatives, this is your time to shine!”

Having already held an online submission and judging for the product awards categories to arrive at a shortlist, it was deemed the Most Promising Young Art Or Designer category, which is sponsored by retailer Postmark, would be best judged in the flesh in order for the creativity of the entrants to be fully appreciated.

So, all submissions to The Lynn Tait Award will be considered by the judging panel made up of esteemed retail buyers at the live judging event which will also see all shortlisted ranges going under the judges’ scrutiny to arrive at the finalists. All shortlisted ranges can be seen here.

Please send your board/submission, including your contact details, to: The Henries, Jakki Brown, Max Publishing, United House, North Road, N7 9DP,  and entries for The Lynn Tait Most Promising Young Designer Or Artist award category should arrive no later than Wednesday, 27 July, to allow time for entries to be logged in readiness for the live judging event.

The Henries – owned and organised by Max Publishing, publishers of Progressive Greetings and PG Buzz – are the only dedicated awards programme to celebrate the UK greeting card industry, which relies on the talents of thousands of creatives.

All finalists for The Henries 2022 categories will be announced in early August with the winners revealed at an upbeat 1950s-themed awards event on Thursday, 6 October, at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel.
