Card Indie Cloudnine Spearheads #LoveDeepings Campaign

Independent card and gift retailer, Alison Ireland, owner of Cloudnine in Market Deeping is spearheading the#LoveDeepings campaign to encourage people to use their local shops and services. The aim is to boost the local economy by £3m a year through every adult in the town spending £5 a week locally instead of online.

“The #LoveDeepings campaign will hopefully serve to raise the importance of supporting local,” Alison told PG Buzz.

“It is a little different to many campaigns as in it is not just for retailers but for all sectors of business and services locally. However we are initially focusing on retail to give the campaign a good foundation as it is something with which people identify,” Alison continues.

Alison said the video, which is hosted on the town’s Facebook site, and the campaign would not have got off the ground without the enthusiasm of other local businesses, from other retailers, eating establishments and even window cleaners.

The local Deepings Business Club, of which Alison is heavily involved has been instrumental in the campaign.

At the official launch on Tuesday (May 7), different agencies across the community were united, “from councillors to volunteer groups to different sector businesses, in a bid to form a partnership to promote local,” explained Alison.
