Vote in the GCA Tagline Challenge

Forget the General Election on 8 June, the one ‘election’ you don’t want to miss voting in is the GCA Tagline Challenge at PG Live!

GCA logoEarlier this year the GCA put the call out for ideas for a new tagline that could be used across the industry – by retailers, designers and publishers – something short and sweet that sums up the importance of the emotional connection that greeting cards make. The GCA received 160 suggestions from 60 publishers, retailers and specialist suppliers, via email and Facebook. These submissions have now been whittled down to a shortlist of 10 serious contenders. It is now up to the visitors and exhibitors of PG Live to cast their vote. Voting slips and the ballot box will be in the GCA area in the entrance to the lunch hall.

“I had every faith in the creativity of our members, and have been blown away by the wonderful phrases they have come up with,” said Sharon Little, ceo of the GCA. “It was a hard job to get it down to a shortlist of 10.”

Here is the shortlist – which one will you vote for?:

The votes will be counted over night after the second day of the show so that, appropriately, the winning elected entry will be announced on Thursday 8 June, the same day that we learn the outcome of the General Election.

TOYW banner 1800As well as voting on the GCA stand, make sure you check out the new 2017 Thinking of Your Week branding. The GCA Thinking of You Week website (www.thinkingofyouweek.cards) will also be updated over the next month or so with the new free branding and POS, posters, handouts and fliers that people can download.

Representatives from the GCA will also be on hand to help answer any queries which may arise from exhibiting members as well as to encourage more retailers to join the association.

Sharon said: “Our retailer membership is growing in leaps and bounds. Membership is incredibly reasonable for retailers – only £10+VAT and there are lots of benefits of membership. Having more retailers as members means we really can speak for the whole industry and be better placed to promote and protect greeting card sending to the public.”
