Paper Rose and Windles create ‘trés bon’ Henries tickets

Paris comes to London in a few weeks time at The Henries Awards Ball on Thursday October 5, at The Royal Lancaster Hotel, opposite Hyde Park, which this year take on an ‘Ooh la la’ Parisian’ theme.

Setting the scene with great aplomb for this important greeting card industry awards event, are the beautiful official Henries tickets, designed by Paper Rose and produced by Windles, that are hot off the press.

The Paper Rose design team was delighted to take on the creative challenge of designing the keepsake ticket, running a workshop in its studio which saw its designers create a wealth of wonderful design options.

The resultant stunning ticket design was created by Jojo Norris, senior designer of Paper Rose. It harks back to the Parisian days of old, paying homage to postcard concertina packs that used to be so popular.

Sharing her creative vision, Jojo said: “Our creative director Reggie Pugh brought in some lovely vintage postcards for the workshop and as soon as I saw them, it triggered the idea. I really wanted to recreate the glamour that travelling to Paris still has as well as making the ticket a series of actual postcards that people can use, hence the addition of the perforations between each element.”

Jojo also came up with the design for a special ‘aged’ envelope, which feature a portion of the map of Paris inside.

Greeting card printer Windles took on the challenge of producing the ticket (complete with subtle foiling) and the envelope, which are just about to go out to sponsors and attendees.

In addition, Windles’ design maestro Ian Kear-Bertie, its head of design and creative direction has also been flexing his creative muscles – coming up with a fabulous menu card for The Henries, which incorporates a French tie and wonderfully foiled knife and fork.
